With the rise in Gas prices recently some of the larger Manufacturing companies (Pharmaceutical, Motor Industry etc.) have switched over their boiler systems to burning Oil. With this new conversion in place they require to know just how much oil they are using, this is where Ultrasonic Clamp-on Flowmeters come into their own. Connecting a two channel flowmeter to the pipes, externally without the need for any downtime,
Channel one on the inlet pipe and Channel two one on the return leg of the pipe. The Oil usage can now be instantly calculated by setting the meter to subtract one flow from the other, thus giving the net usage of the boiler system. This measurement will be accurate to approx 1-2% of the overall flow. (as long as the manufacturers’ installation recommendations are adhered to)
